A beautiful art glass vase with an applied salamander and lava flow from the rim, made by Moser around 1885. The vase is decorated with typical art nouveau motif. Made on ribbed-glass blank, the vase has a polished pontil. The vase is approximately 10 inches (25,5 cm) tall and 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) wide at its widest. Except for a small chip on one of the lava-contours and some roughness next to it, the vase is in excellent condition. Though unsigned, it is guaranteed to have been made by Moser. A somewhat similar vase is shown in Baldwin's book on Moser glass (see last picture for your convenience).
