Offered is this rare French crackled glass vase with inclusions and applied glass rigaree on top-rim and an applied base. The vase is approximately 6 inches (15 cm) tall, 4 1/2 inches (11,5 cm) wide and 4 inches (10 cm) deep. It is in excellent condition. Unsigned. Though the vase could have been made by either of the three French art glass makers, Francois-Eugene Rousseau, Ernest-Baptiste Leveille or Eugene Michel, all three of whom made crackled art glass vases, in my opinion, the greatest likelihood is that this vase was made by Eugene Michel - the green glass applications on the top and bottom of this vase (both in color and shape) were more typical of Michel (please refer to page 42 of Janine Bloch-Dermant's book, 'The art of French Glass 1860-1914', for a water-lily vase with similar glass applications - shown in last picture here for your convenience). There are very few surviving Eugene Michel pieces around, and were this vase made by Michel, as expected, this vase would be a very rare Michel art glass vase.
