C:1840 Biedermeier Period Very Rare Bohemian glass chalice Pre Moser

Offered is this very rare early Bohemian glass chalice. It is 6 3/8 inches (16 cm) tall and 3 3/8 inches (8,5 cm) wide at the top. Made on very heavy glass, there is superb enameling and cutting. Unsigned. The deep miter-cut star on the base of the chalice and the lavish gilding on it would strongly suggest that this chalice was made in Bohemia in the Biedermeier period (1825-1845). The chalice fluoresces a gentle-greenish color when subjected to long-wavelength black-light, typical of 19th century glass. Couple of flea-bites (see picture) and some fabrication-pits on its bottom (see last picture).
