This is a gorgeous 13-piece 800 silver dessert service, made by Lazarus Posen Witze in Frankfurt, Germany around 1890. Posen was a german silver maker who worked from 1870 to 1930. This dessert service is comprised of one serving spoon and twelve dessert spoons. Each spoon has a shaped terminal end of lattice work above a winged cherub with a ribbed stem and gilt seashell-shaped bowls. They exhibit exquisite craftsmanship and are in excellent condition, with only minor surface scratches and light wear to the gilt bowls.
The serving spoon measures 8 3/4" x 2 1/2" and the dessert spoons each measure 4 1/2" x 1". Their combined weight is 8.3 ounces.
