This is a beautiful silver Navajo spoon, featuring elegantly simple hand-hammered designs on both the bowl and the handle. The tip of the handle culminates in a whirling log shape with the three dimensional bead at its center. At the turn of the last century, this type of silver spoon was made from ingot silver by the Navajo Indians of Arizona and New Mexico for the tourist trade. They were never marked for silver content. The designs on this spoon are a fine example of Navajo craftsmanship. This is a very collectable spoon.
This spoon measures 4" x 1". It weighs 12 grams. This spoon is in excellent vintage condition.
