This is a beautiful silver Navajo spoon, featuring many hand-hammered motifs and a whirling log on the handle. At the turn of the last century, this type of silver spoon was made from ingot silver by the Navajo Indians of Arizona and New Mexico for the tourist trade. They were never marked for silver content. This particular Navajo spoon is a very substantial spoon with a rather deep bowl. The uniquely twisted handle and lovely array of hand-hammered designs are a fine example of Navajo craftsmanship. This is a very collectable spoon.
This spoon measures 6 1/8" x 1 1/4". It weighs 23 grams. This spoon is in excellent vintage condition.
