Pair of Peter L. Krider Sterling Silver Repousse Muffineers/Sugar Casters/Salt and Pepper Shakers, circa 1890s

This is a gorgeous pair of sterling silver muffineers, sugar casters, or salt and pepper shakers, made by Peter L. Krider in the 1890s. They are decorated with a lovely repousse pattern featuring many different types of flowers and leaves. Their pierced toppers have a silver bead on the top. Use them to shake sugar on deserts or as a great pair of salt and pepper shakers!

These shakers are in excellent condition. Each measures 2 1/5" x 2 1/5" x 6". Their combined weight is 181.5 grams, or 5.17 Troy ounces. They have an identical monogram of the letters "CRW" on their fronts.

Peter L. Krider (Philadelphia) designed for Tiffany and Co. between 1870 and 1903. Although these shakers are not marked "TIFFANY & Co.," I have an identical pair listed in my shop that are, indicating that they were made by Krider for Tiffany and Co.
