Tiffany & Co Greek Revival Sterling Silver Hand Mirror 1870's

This elegant sterling silver hand mirror is made in the Greek Revival Style by Tiffany &Co. It certainly draws attention. It features a wonderfully detailed, androgynous cast face on the handle, flowing hair is framed by bead-like details. On the back of this mirror is a beautifully engraved monogram, with intertwining, Celtic-like letters. The mirror could be replaced if needed and the tiny screws that secure it in place add an almost industrial design element to the back of this mirror. A truly unique piece, it has both masculine and feminine elements. It is Classic like the Greeks.

This mirror measures 11 1/4" X 6 1/2". It is in excellent condition. The back is marked "TIFFANY & CO. 3585 MAKERS 7176 STERLING-SILVER 925-1000 M." This dates it to the 1870's and the directorship of Edward Moore.
