Matching Webster Sterling Silver Dance Chatelaine
Suspended from a finger-ring are four chains ranging in length from 3 to 4 1/2 inches in length that hold the following items - a sheath that held a pencil, an encased note pad with original celluloid pages on which to notes were written, coin holder, and a compact with mirror. All the items are beautifully engraved with flowers, leaves and scroll designs and each are monogrammed .The pencil sheath is 2 5/8" in length and the note pad is 1 3/8" by 1 5/8, The compact is 1 7/8, and the coin holder1 1/2" in size. Each of these attachment items are stamped "Sterling" and have the Webster Hallmark. This piece weights 2.3 troy oz with the celluloid and mirror not being sterling. This piece is in very good condition and represents a bygone era. There were at one time five items as you can see the area were there was another chain. The Webster Company was originally founded by George K. Webster in 1869 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Their line of sterling items included over 20 patterns of dresser sets, picture frames, cigarette holders, bowls, baby items, candlesticks, napkin rings and more.
