This DeVez Cameo vase is a beautiful depiction of trees in a landscape. The base color of the vase is a creamy ivory with just a bit of gloss the second color is a pinkish red. The last color is a very dark green with hints of blue. The scene depicts pinky coral mountains in the background. A lake is located in the foreground, with finely detailed deep green trees. The combination of a simple glass form with the three colors and the cameo work is stunning. The vase is in perfect condition having no chips, cracks or nicks. It is 8 3/4" tall x 3 1/2" at it's widest point 2 1/4" at the base with the vase opening being 1 1/8". This piece was made between 1909 and 1914, under the directorship of Camille Tutre de Varreux, the factory at Pantin produced acid-etched cameo glass with the signature "DeVez". Multiple layers of coloured glass were acid-etched with natural decorations such as florals, landscapes, river views, animals and birds, and popular Art Nouveau designs of the period.
