A one-of-a-kind surrealist, stunning glass piece from the world renowned Swedish artist Bertil Vallien (b. 1937). This fine art piece, which features bodies, stairs and other architectural elements floating in space, belongs to the series of glass pieces he made in the 80's known as "100 Years of Solitude". On the bottom of the vase the artist has signed the piece with his name and noted that this work is "Unik" (unique), and number 257 from the series of vase pieces he created. Known for his mastery and fascinating dream-like designs within the Kosta Boda art manufacturer, this glass vase reveals an interior sandblasting technique , which leaves the exterior smooth and translucent. Its a remarkable piece, of blues, purples, and pinks all swirling together creating layers of light and other-worldly narratives. The vase takes a slight oval form and is 7 inches high by 6 inches wide. It is in excellent condition.
