John Wendt Sterling Silver Medallion Pattern Master Berry Spoon 1862

This is an Early American Sterling Silver Piece. A Beautiful John Wendt Sterling Silver Medallion Pattern Master Berry Spoon. This features a shell shaped scalloped bowl with delicate points in between each scallop. The classic Medallion Pattern was very popular from the 1860's on. Almost every major silver smith of the time had their own version. It is wonderful to study the different interpretations. Made in 1862 by John R. Wendt this spoon still has very crisp detail. The medallion head is clear as a bell. It is 8 3/4" long and 2 1/8" wide and weights 2.12 troy oz. Lovely pristine spoon.
