This is an exceptional ladle from George W. Shiebler & Company. It is in the Acanthus Pattern and has the the leaf to prove it. From the top of the handle a Beautiful Acanthus leaf flows down. The piece has an H monogram. The back of the handle is decorated with a stylized foliate. The piece has the makers mark, Sterling and PAT. 1887. It is 12" in long and 14 1/2 from the tip of the handle to the base of the bowl flowing the line of the piece. The bowl is 4 1/4 " and the piece weights just over 7 troy oz. This is a lovely example of Shiebler's work. He was active in New York City from 1876-1920 and know for the quality of his work.
