A Pair of Ann and Peter Bateman Old English Sterling Silver Serving Spoons

This is a classic pair of sterling silver serving spoons from the prominent family of silversmiths Peter and Anne Bateman in the Old English Pattern. This family is renowned for their beautiful silver work. The serving spoons were assayed in London in 1793, the letter S indicates this. The serving spoons each measure 9" long and 1 3/4" wide and have a total weight 4 troy oz. They are in very good condition considering their age, over two hundred years. They have the monogram M+B in a lovely simple font.
