Rare Wood & Hughes Brite Cut Coin Silver Master Butter Knife

This is a rare coin silver brite cut master butter knife by Wood & Hughes, of Providence, RI, with an applied medallion. Circa 1865 The medallion is a female with long tresses of hair and what appears to be wings on her dress. There is applied beading around the medallion, and the stem of the spoon is ribbed and beaded. The back of the spoon is monogrammed with the name Fan in a lovely font. It is marked for Wood & Hughes and Sunderlin & Weaver the retailer. It is 7 3/4" in length and 1 1/4" wide and wieghts 1.4 oz. troy. It is excellent condition with very crisp detail.
