This is a classic set of 4 sterling silver teaspoons from the prominent family of silversmiths Peter and Anne Bateman in the Old English Pattern. This family is renowned for their beautiful silver work. The teaspoons were assayed in London in 1797 and 1 in 1804. The letter B is for year 1797 and fourth one was made in 1804 date letter l and also with the addition of William Bateman to the makers mark. The teaspoons each measure approximately 5'' and have a total weight of 1.35 troy oz. They are in very good condition considering their age, over two hundred years. Two have the monogram M+N, one with CP and one with no monogram.
