William Kerr Baby or Child Plate in Sterling Silver with a Cut Glass Dome
This charming William Kerr Sterling Silver and Cut Glass dome has a delightful motif showing children from all over the world on the silver plate. It is a child's plate with a glass service dome and sterling top, for a very special little one. The border of the plate has been acid etched and depicts children from various parts of the world. There is an Asian child an American Indian an Eskimo an American and Russian child. It is a delightful piece of Childhood memorabilia. The bottom of the plate has the Kerr hallmark the pattern Number 1483 and sterling. The glass dome also has the Kerr hallmark on the top. It is 6.25" in diameter and 5" tall. The plate weighs 4.9 Troy oz. and is in excellent shape. The glass is in very good shape having a small nick on the bottom that has been polished out.
This is a very rare Kerr piece as I have never seen the glass dome before. Circa 1900
