1960/70s Anchor Hocking ~ Melamine Plate w/ Dome Cover ~ Excellent Condition.
Bon appetit! Here is another really cool '60s piece, made by Anchor Hocking in the USA. These pieces are pretty hard to find with the cover, especially in this great condition.
The heavy, melamine-type plate measures 11.25" long (with handles) x 10" wide x 1" deep without its cover. The hard plastic, domed cover adds an additional 3.5" to the height. It has a "space age" effect and there is a small, inverted handle at the top for lifting the cover.
Both pieces are without chips or cracks, but there are a few scuffs on the cover, to be expected considering its age. They are relatively minor, but are being mentioned for accuracy purposes.
The speckled plate is marked "Anchor Hocking ~ Made in USA ~ Microware ~ Not For Range Top Or Broiler Use ~ Not For Oven Temperatures Above 400 degrees F Or 204 degrees C" on the rims of the handles.
(I believe the plate is melamine, but it is not marked Melamine.)
Perfect for outdoor dining, this is a very durable plate and the cover will keep the bugs away!
