1910 Vaudeville Actress ~ Large Original Photo ~ Excellent Condition.
Vaudeville originated in the mid-1800s, and for 10 cents you could engage in an American variety show of music, comedy, jugglers, drama or other novelty.
This design of entertainment was created in effort to eliminate the stress of a newly industrialized society. It is believed that the word originated from the French term "vaux de ville," meaning "worth of the city or city's patronage."
This photograph is in superb condition and features a beautiful woman from 1910-1915 in Vaudeville costume. Don't you just love her kiss smile and eyelashes?
It measures 9 7/8" high x 7" wide, and is without creases, bends, rips or tears. There is minor discoloration on the back and age-related toning (to be expected).
It is signed on the front lower left, "DAVIES PORTLAND, ORE."
This is a fine example of Vaudeville memorabilia and it is in fantastic condition.
