Art Deco Lilac Pink & Robin's Egg Blue Brilliant Rhinestone Pot Metal Earrings ~ Excellent Condition.
Where do we begin in our description of these stunning earrings!
Definitely Art Deco ~ circa 1920-40s ~ and very well-cared for. Each clip style earring measures 2.5" long x 3/4" wide.
They are quite ornate with 3 connected segments. Starting from the earhole, each earring has a 3/8" wide, green-enameled metal flower with a central 2 mm lilac pink rhinestone. The middle portion contains 7 lilac pink and 10 robin's egg blue rhinestones (ranging from 2 mm - 4 mm in size) with a superimposed blue-enameled metal flower (containing a 4 mm blue rhinestone).
Suspended at the base, is a lilac-enameled metal flower with one 4 mm lilac pink rhinestone, two adjacent 1 mm lilac rhinestones (difficult to see in the photos...they are actually hiding under the flower's petals), and topped off with a large (10 mm), deep blue navette rhinestone. Simply marvelous.
All rhinestones are intact and brilliant with only a slight darkening becoming evident in the corners of the navettes and adjacent to the center flowers. Very minor.
The metal setting has a deep green, early enamel which shows areas of scattered loss. Rest assured, this loss does not detract from the beauty of these earrings. It is minimal and since the enamel is superimposed on what appears to be a gold metal base, the loss actually accentuates its beauty by providing a golden highlight from these exposed areas. They are absolutely gorgeous earrings and in wonderful condition.
The clip cushions may have been replaced at some point in the past and the clips on these earrings are snug and secure. They just don't make them like this anymore!
