Vintage Kirk-Stieff ~ Victorian Style House Fine Pewter Ornament ~ Near Mint Condition.
This lovely, pewter tree ornament shows a Victorian style home dressed for the Christmas holiday with a wreath on the front door.
It measures 3" high x 2" wide and is marked Kirk-Stieff Pewter on the lower back. It comes with its original vinyl sleeve (package has a few scuffs) and appears to have been minimally used.
(Please note, the first photograph is the true color of this item...it is a nice shiny silver. We removed the flash for the last 4 photos for a better view.)
Samuel Kirk & Son, Inc. opened its doors in 1817 and The Stieff Company in 1892. They were both silversmiths and manufacturers of silverware. However, in 1979, the Stieff Company acquired Samuel Kirk & Son, and by 1980, they had evolved into Kirk-Stieff.
This company was based in Baltimore, Maryland, an area where these wonderful, 19th century brownstones can easily be seen.
In 1990, the Stieff family sold the company to Lenox (makers of flatware, china and crystal) and today, the name is affiliated with Lifetime Brands, Inc. (after being purchased from Lenox in July 2007).
This is a beautifully crafted, fine pewter Victorian style house ornament.
