Black Forest carved Eagle Bracket Clock

This is a most imposing Black Forest carved bracket clock. It features a large carved eagle (he measures about 13" from chest to tail feathers and approx. 10" high). He is perched on a rocky outcrop, with gnarled branches, leaves and stylistic flowers. The dial is carved to resemble a log of wood, cut cross grain. The applied roman numerals are metal and the hands are ornate, fretted and impressed brass.

The 8 day clock movement is French c1880. Two train, strikes on the hour and half hour on a saucer bell. Movement has been cleaned and set-up, but we strongly recommend that you engage the services of a qualified clock maker if you are unfamiliar with setting up a clock.

The condition is excellent, there is some small evidence of woodworm on the back of the case, but this has been treated many many years ago. The clock measures 19" high, 15" wide and 6 1/2" deep
