Antique Arts & Crafts Bronze Inkwell w/ Glass Insert
The inkwell measures 3-3/4" tall by approximately 5" in diameter. It's in very fine antique condition with a beautiful original patina and perfectly operating hinge. The thick glass insert is free of cracks or large chips, but does have a few nicks around the bottom rim. The black hard rubber fitting is in amazingly good condition with no cracking whatsoever. The fitting is marked Keene N.H. N.Y. City Chicago USA", and the inkwell is stamped "MF & Co. Viking" inside the hinged top. This wonderful desk accessory would make a fine gift for the collector. By the way, next time you're watching HBO's Boardwalk Empire, take a look at Nucky Thompson's office desk. You'll see this identical inkwell used as one of the desk props.
