"Sevres Bavaria" Hand Painted Artist Signed F. Thomas Decorative Plate

Wonderful Fall shades of green, yellow, orange and purple make this pattern entitled "Toscana" come alive. Two bunches of grapes, one green and the other purple, hang from a leafy vine on a backdrop of variegated greens ranging from light to dark. Then the entire scene is wreathed with a thick gold rim and signed by the artist, "Harris".

The plate is from the F. Thomas porcelain company which became an independent subsidiary of Rosenthal in late 1908. It measures 8-1/2" in diameter and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing. There is some very light rubbing of the gold trim from handling but it is still very bright. The underside of the plate is marked with the green Thomas Sevres Bavaria mark that dates it to between 1908 and 1939. It is also stamped "Toscana Hand Painted" and the artist Harris has signed the front. Displayed in a cabinet or on the wall this plate is sure to bring your dining room to life.
