PEDRO CASTILLO 1950's Taxco Sterling Bracelet

This outstanding sterling bracelet dates from the 1950's and comes from one of Taxco's premiere artisans, Pedro Castillo. It's crafted in a classic Taxco design with eight large swirling links, each adorned with a silver half sphere, and invisibly joined at the back with jump rings to give it smooth, flowing lines. Because it's fully articulated, it lays beautifully on the wrist and is very comfortable to wear. It has the beautiful warm patina that only develops over time and adds to it's superb style. The tongue in groove box closure works perfectly and is very secure. The bracelet's wearable length is 7-1/4" and it measures 7/8" wide. Condition is excellent with no issues whatsoever. Hallmarks on the clasp read "Sterling, Taxco, Hecho en Mexico" and a conjoined PC for Pedro Castillo, with the Eagle 3 mark.

Before opening his own taller in the 1940's, Pedro Castillo designed for the likes of William Spratling, Hector Aguilar and Raphael Melendez. His designs are always innovative, masterfully executed and highly collectible.
