This beautiful ruby bead (Old Mined African) necklace is made of 365 carats of Africa earth- mined, natural rare-sized fine "pigeon blood" red (red to purple) ruby round beads. Rubies have gone up in price over three times in last 12 months due to embargo & closing of mines in Myanmar (Burma). Now, that has made African Rubies cost the same as Burmese Rubies. These fabulous ruby beads range from 10 mm - 13 mm which is large. These red rubies have been "treated" by heat color enhancement, fracture filled for enhancement, & clarity enhanced. They show inclusions if you hold them up to daylight. Inclusions show they are real. The cost of unheated, untreated (clean) rubies is prohibitive (ie. $2,000.xx per carat -$5,000.xx per carat). Most gemstones are treated now-a-days, even diamonds. Although these rubies might be grade-B (the lowest) & enhanced they would still cost $10.00 per carat -$25.00 per carat in a jewelry store, which would be $3,650.00.Here is a chance to wear "big" rubies for not too big a price. Haute for Not a Lot! The gold spacer saucer-shaped beads are vermeil. The clasp is, also, vermeil. This necklace looks & feels EXPENSIVE & beautiful. Also, I am unable to get these beads anymore. I am putting it on pre-Holiday sale for $1,500.xx
