We are very proud to offer an original oil painting on board, 12 inches x 16 inches, by the well renowned Swedish/American artist Tore Asplund, NA, AWA, (b.1903-d. 1978). Mr. Asplund was born in Sweden, & his family immigrated to New York City when he was about one year old. After high school, he studied at Grand Central Art School & at the Art Students League. When WW II broke out, he joined the Army. He quickly became a recognized combat artist whose works bear the names "D-Day Down the Nets", the "Gunnery", & "Lady Liberty". After the War, he returned to painting in NYC. He received many awards & honors. Our original oil painting's subject is a wonderful urban street scene on Lexington Ave., NYC. This is a business center in Manhattan which is next to Park Ave. & Madison Ave. There is a Salmagundi Club Exhibition Label on back dated 1971. It is signed lr. This fabulous oil is in original & excellent condition, especially for being 41 years old. We are putting this wonderful painting on sale for $550.xx. We think it is valued at $900.xx +. This is a very good price especially with the "label"!!
