Jan Bushart Hawaii oo/b Beach Scene with Hammock
We are very proud to offer one of two small original oils on artist's board by Jan Bushart. This example is 6 inches x 8 inches & is titled on back : Relax Enjoy. This painting is quite wonderful! It shows a very inviting Hammock on the beach. It, also, has a great frame. Both oil & frame are in original & pristine condition. Jan Bushart has been painting all her life. Her very creative parents recognized & encouraged her unusual talent for art when she was very young. Her father Ken Smith still plays his cornet with the Golden Eagle Jazz Band. Her mother Flossie Smith is a painter exhibiting her works in Southern California. They raised Jan & her 3 siblings in a noisy, creative, fun household surrounded by art & music. However, she was encouraged to paint OUTSIDE! She has always preferred to paint outside from Nature rather than from photos, even though her instructors encouraged her to paint from photos. Jan often says "I have always enjoyed painting from life". At age 20, Jan received a scholarship from The Laguna Beach School of Art while studying watercolor with Roger Armstrong. At that point she knew she would forever be cleaning "paint" from under her fingernails! She went on to receive a B A in Art from Calif. State University at Chico, where she studied with Ann Pierce, Sal Casa, & Ken Morrow. She helped support herself through college by selling her paintings & watercolors. By the time she graduated, Jan was represented by Galleries in California, Alaska, Arizona, & Hawaii. She has always been in love with & inspired by the sheer beauty of Hawaii. In 1998, Jan up & moved from Calif. To Hawaii. When settled in Hawaii, she began painting primarily in oils. Because she saw a need to unite artists from the many Hawaiian Islands, she founded (in 2005) the juried state-wide outdoor painting group : Plein Air Painters of Hawaii. She is a Signature Member, Founder & President of the prestigious Plein Air Painters of Hawaii. The group has 125 members both from Hawaii & The Mainland. She has produced over 20 events for Plein Air Painters of Hawaii, including paint-outs & shows on 4 Islands. She was featured on the cover of International Artists Magazine in 2005, which published a nine page article about the Plein Air Artists of Hawaii. She has won many awards & is currently represented by many Galleries. Here is an opportunity to own an exquisite example by a VERY important contemporary Hawaiian artist. Her larger works sell for $2,500-$5,000. This painting is well worth owning. Hawaii has always been a very sought-after subject. This oil was painted by a very hard-working, "mover& shaker" brilliant contemporary woman artist. She not only paints amazingly well, but , also, whose works just keep going up in value. We are putting it on sale for $400.xx down from value price of $650.xx
