What a frilly fantasy this Edwardian dream piece is. I purchased this from a British source which gave me the period that it was made in. The stringing on this necklace is the most interesting bead design work I have ever come across. I have to say that it is holding but I cannot guarantee the stringing because of the age of the piece. It really is quite strong throughout and it seems to have been strung on some kind of machine as the tension and the stitches are perfect!! An experienced bead restringer could restring this when it needs it. The way it is strung the beads will not come falling apart if one area breaks.
The amazing things about the necklace go on and on. The coral is stellar, oxblood Mediterranean and has excellent matching quality as you can read all about in the certified gemological lab appraisal. I have my coral appraised exclusively by Harold Weinstein here in Toronto where I live as they are one of only 4 labs recognized by the American Gem Society. This appraisal is valid for insurances purposes world wide.
The replacement value is a whopping $5600!!!!!!!!!! The length is 22 1/2" long. The weight is another whopping 121.47 and the gemological value is all in the coral quality and volume.
