Dresden large hand painted portrait charger with courting scene
This is a nice large hand painted charger produced in Dresden. It has a unique hexagonal form with a scalloped edge. The courting scene has a seated man and woman in a traditional pastoral setting. She holds a basket of roses in her hands. There is an additional woman, off to the side of this couple. She stands at the bush, picking her own roses. Ornate decoration of gold scrolling trim and multicolored floral sprays extend around the edge of the plate. It measures 12 3/4" across, and has a coupe form.It is marked on the back Dresden. This piece is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
