Here is a wonderful hand painted portrait lamp. It features a female standing in a garden, holding an urn. Lush foliage surrounds her. Workmanship in the painting is incredible. When I first saw the lamp, I thought it was painting on porcelain. The body of the lamp is actually an opaque white glass. The front of the lamp features the female in the garden, with the artist signature Ahne. The back of the lamp has tow white birds in flight. There is a deep blue trim around the top and bottom of the lamp, accented with thickly gilded beads and leaves. The overall height of the lamp is 21 1/2", with the glass section measuring 13 1/2". It measures 8" wide, and has a 23 1/2" circumference. The lamp dates to either the late 1800's or early 1900's. The wiring comes through the top of the lamp, rather than being drilled through the base. The lamp is very heavy, weighting over 11 pounds. There are two small scratches on the back. Otherwise, it is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
