This is a form I have never seen before in a Limoges vase. This piece stands 13 1/2" tall, measures 6 3/4" wide, and has a 21" circumference at the widest point. It features reddish orange poppies hand painted on a background that shades from dark to lighter green. A scrolling vine with leaves and flowers wraps around the vase and extends up the neck. It dates to the early 1900's and was produced by Jean Pouyat in Limoges. There are several chips around the base and the side of the base. There is one chip on the leaves extending around the vase. Otherwise, there are no cracks or repairs to this piece. Certainly an unusual item, worthy of restoration!
