Orrefors graal Eva Englund huge calla lily vase

This vase is an incredible example of art glass and the largest piece of Orrefors I have ever owned. This vase stands 10" tall, 8 3/4" across, and has a 28" circumference. It weights about 14 pounds. It features three large white open calla lilies along with several closed ones. The flowers are resting on large green leaves, detailed with veining. Decoration covers the entire body of the vase. The pictures show every side of the vase (I turned it as I was taking the pictures.) The workmanship on this piece is outstanding. Graal is a complex process, parallel in the initial procedures to French cameo glass. The glass is then reheated and an outer clear casing of glass is applied. The piece also has small metallic inclusions, reminiscent of aventurine glass. A similar example to this vase can be found in William Geary's book on Scandinavian glass, page 42. The vase appears to be identical in shape and color, including the leaves. That vase has a panther in place of the calla lilies. This vase is signed Orrefors 1986 I Eva Englund on the bottom. There is scratches/wear of the bottom of the vase, with one single small scratch about 1/4" from the flat polished base. Otherwise, this piece is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Truly a rare opportunity to purchase an outstanding example of Orrefors graal ware by one of the most noted artists in the field, Eva Englund.
