This is a great example of Mount Washington's Colonial ware. This vase features a woman in a flowing dress walking through the woods playing a lyre. Detail is wonderful, with trees and foliage extending around the body of the piece. The rim is gold decorated, with thickly enameled gold flowers, leaves and scrolls on the top of the base. The vase is a large size, standing 14" tall and measuring 4 3/8" across at the base.Similar examples can be found in Betty Sisk's book on Mount Washington glassware. This piece is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. A nice example of a very rare glass!
