Madame Sans-Gene porcelain portrait plate
This is certainly an unusual shape for a portrait plate. It has a square form with scalloped edges. It features the portrait of Madame Sans-Gene, her head tilted to the side, wearing formal attire. The plate measures 9 1/2" by 9 1/2". There are the remains of an illegible mark on the bottom, possibly either German or French. This piece exhibits some wear to the paint and gold. It is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
