This is an incredible lamp featuring a deco style "flapper girl" carved in alabaster. There is incredible detail in the carving on this lamp. She is standing with her hands on her hips, wearing the traditional flapper girl outfit with flowing outfit and tassels. I'm amazed at the accuracy in anatomy, scale, and proportions when the artist was creating this piece.The attention to detail, including the shell on the shoe and the necklace, is meticulous. The alabaster section of the lamp stands 18 1/4" tall, with an overall height of 29 1/2" tall. This piece is from the early 1900's and is marked Made in Italy on the bottom. It rests on a pink stone or marble base, a has a contemporary pink tassel lamp shade that compliments it perfectly. Please note that the shipping calculated by the Ruby Lane system does not include the shade. I will need to calculate shipping for the shade as it will require packaging in a separate box. The lamp is quite heavy, weighting about 14 pounds. This piece is in good condition with some nicks and scratching that you would expect in a carved piece of alabaster this age. The lamp has been rewired for safety and is in proper working order.
