The Best Mid Century Italian Gondola Marquetry Musical Cigarette Box
Fun and elegant mid century Italian marquetry revolving musical cigarette box in the shape of a gondola. The box measures 13" long, it has a hinged lid which when lifted houses a double tray for the cigarettes. The musical box works by hand winding the base, and the tune (which I do not recognize) plays when the cigarette box is opened, at the same time the gondola gently turns on its pedestal, all very fun and charming. The inlay on this box is particularly nice, the box is in excellent estate order, there is very minor cracking on the side of the bow, this may have been in the making, and is virtually invisible, otherwise excellent.
