Beautiful high quality older vintage sterling silver shell form footed Bon Bon bowl, this was produced by the Revere Silver Company, of Brooklyn, NY. The company was founded in 1914 and was in production until 1955 when it became part of Crown Silver Inc., the bowl is marked to the back with Sterling, REVERE, a horses head, and the pattern number 163. The bowl measures 6" wide by 6" long and sits 1 1/2" tall, I do not have the right scale for weighing silver, but it is approx 5 ounces in weight. The bowl sits on three small ball feet and has a very ornate form with good molding and a decorative rope rim to the handle end. The handle has been monogrammed in Gothic type script, ?R, it was rather hard to read so I don't think anyone is going to notice if these are not your initials. I hand polished the bowl and it came up to a very nice high shine, I did not find any dents or other issues, and it displays beautifully, it is a lovely mid sized server with a good weight and fine details.
