Warships and Naval Battles of the Civil War by Tony Gibbons published by Gallery Books of New York, 1st edition, hardback book with dust jacket, 176 pages.
This is a highly comprehensive study of the ships used in the civil war, with over 250 illustrations of Confederate and Union ships, full details of the design, construction, and cost every single major ship and of the engagements they fought in,, comprehensive details of every ship know to have seen action (over 1500), plus aerial views of the major battles.
I found this a fascinating book, it explored an area that has been much less studied than the land campaigns, yet which was just as important and in many ways as costly, it is a must have for the Civil war enthusiast, or for those interested in Navel history.
The book is in excellent condition, virtually like new, see photos as part of the description.
