Beautiful Vintage Hand Painted Porcelain Trinket Box
Absolutely beautiful hand painted porcelain trinket or powder box, with ribbed form covered with lovely sprigs of pink and green flowers. The lid and base of the box have green and gilt decoration to the rims, the whole form is pretty and very charming, it is in very good estate order with just one tiny flake to the inner rim. The box measures approx 3 1/2" wide by 2" tall, and is signed to the base Dow Sie Cot Ure, which I believe was a vintage mark used by an obscure Japanese company pretending to be European. Whatever the origin this is a delightful and pretty porcelain box, and would be lovely on a dresser to hold earrings or other odds and ends.
