Rare to find a silk chiffon antique blouse intact, let alone in this near perfect condition. A gossamer dream, the blouse is constructed of very fine silk chiffon, with the loveliest bobbin and crochet lace inserts, and pin tucking at the neck and cuffs. The blouse is a classic late Victorian or Edwardian shape, with a short waist that is gathered, and fastens to the back with mother of pearl buttons and a hook and eye. The measurements are as follows: waist 12" flat, length 16", 16" shoulder to shoulder , 18" underarm flat . Please contact me if you need more measurements. The blouse is in remarkable condition for the age and fabric, there are a couple of very tiny pinholes and two small stains which are in the gathers at the base and so don't show, but no rips, tears or other damage. There is also some minor age discoloration to the fabric, as this has not been cleaned, due to being old and fragile. A beautiful blouse for very light wear, display or study, it came from the estate of a lady who collected decommissioned museum items.
