Lovely nightgown in a true large size, rare in antique gowns I find. This is one of several lovely larger handmade early nightgowns I purchased from a local estate, all in white cotton with lovely crochet details. Made of heavy cotton the gown is sleeveless with a beautiful simple crochet deep Vee neckline (back and front) and ribbon drawstring detail. The gown is in all original order with just replacement ribbons (these could easily be changed for a different color if you wished) I looked it over and could not find any damage, though I may have missed a very tiny stain or pin hole, the bodice has yellowed very slightly, the condition is very good for a functional garment of this period. The gown measures approx 52" from shoulder to hem, and approx 22" flat across the under arm, the fit is fairly flexible due to the slight stretch in the crochet and the drawstring ribbon, but is a true large (it was a little big on my model who takes a medium to large), this is a delightful early nightgown with lovely crochet details for the fuller figure.
