Superb quality Victorian Papier Mache glove box in an oriental or Chinoiserie design with a Geisha, flowers, birds, and a butterfly. The beautiful gilt highly ornate design is in excellent condition with bright original colors, and just the very slightest of wear to the finish. The entire box is excellent for the age, with no major losses, cracks, chips or other damage, just the minor wear commensurate with age. The interior is of red lacquer, and is also excellent. The box measures 12" long by 4" wide, and is English dating to circa 1870.
