Antique stoneware fruit/jam jar. No chips or cracks; does have a very small flake on inside rim. Glaze is in very good order, the original wire clamp is more elegant then most I have seen and works just fine. A similar jar is shown in the book on Monmouth Western Stoneware; pg. 73, and was made by Weir Pottery Co. circa:1899-1905 valued at $165. This jar has raised lettering on lid "The Weir Pat Mar 1st 1892". It is 8.5" tall x 5" wide. A great jar for your collection! See photos as part of detailed description.
