Vintage Norway Aksel Holmsen Enamel Guilloche Fine Filigree Pin Brooch

This signed vintage enameled guilloche pin is by noted Scandinavian silversmith Aksel Holmsen 1n the 1950's. Made of sterling silver, the piece has a gold vermeil wash and is finished with vitreous glass (kiln-fired) enamel in a bright white finish. The enamel is applied over a textured surface that gives a realistic, yet somewhat stylized impression of the swirling lines on the brooch. Has a wonderful sterling silver filagree all around the enameling. All most a solje design. The brooch measures 1-5/8" wide by 1-1/4" high and is in excellent condition. Weighs 7.5 grams total weight. The back has a rollover safety clasp in good working order. The piece is signed "Sterling 925S Norway" along with Holmsen's mark of overlapping pliers. Will make a great addition for any fine costume jewelry collection.
