Original invitation with mailing envelope to the inauguration of Lyndon Johnson and Hubert Humphrey held January 20, 1965. It measures 11" x 8 3/8" and has the inauguration seal embossed in gold ink with copy in raised black lettering. Included is the addressed and stamped (15 cents) envelope. Invitation is in near perfect condition – bottom right corner has a slight bend. Envelope has a torn spot where it was opened, slight bends at the corners and a couple of small spots. The program for the Inaugural Gala at the National Armory in D.C. has the original red cord. The program is gold with embossed profiles of Johnson and Humphrey and white lettering on heavy stock. Inside list of performances and performers is printed in red ink. Celebrity performers included Alfred Hitchcock, Bobby Darin, Woody Allen, Carol Burnett, Johnny Carson and Barbra Streisand, to drop just a few names. It measures 12" x 4 ¾". It shows slight wear with a three small creases, about ½" on front and back near the fold.
