Modernist David-Andersen Norway Sterling & Amethyst Cabochon Ring ~ 1960s

Norway's leading silversmith, Davide-Andersen established in 1876. The company became world famous for its enamel jewellery in the first half of the 20th century. In the 1950s David-Andersen took the initiative to foster young and innovative designers of modernist 'Scandinavian Design' silver jewellery, with or without enamel and these are much sought-after pieces.

This is a stunning vintage Modernist ring from David Andersen and is a superb example of mid century modern design. The sterling silver band has an asymmetrical wrapped form, and is set with three high-domed amethyst cabochons. The amethyst stones have wonderful gradient color from pale to deep amethyst ~ just wonderful.

Dimensions are : Measures just over 1/2 inch at the widest point; extends 3/8 inch from the hand. Weighs 7.9 grams. Ring size 7 1/4 and is adjustable. In excellent condition with some light signs of wear on the silver commensurate with age, the amethyst stones are in perfect condition and the silver has fine patina. Hallmarked D-A, 925S, NORWAY-STERLING.
