Art Deco German Bauhaus 1920's Silver and Marcasite Ring

Art Deco artisans preferred a more symmetrical arrangement of geometric shapes in a repeated design, and often used pyramids and stepped ziggurats. Art Deco was influenced by the German Bauhaus School of Design and emphasized linearity and geometric form.

Stamped '935', this indicates it was crafted in Germany around 1920 - 1930. Germany was a large producer of Marcasite jewellery during the 1920's making quality silver and marcasite pieces that were bead set. In this ring the stones are pyramid faceted and the work is very, very fine. The design is geometric and stepped and crafted into an architectural oblong with stepped shoulders in three layers. The entire design is covered with tiny marcasites.

The ring is a US size 8 & 1/2 and the head measures 11/16 inch high and 10/16 wide. It weighs 4.4 grams. The hallmark is double stamped and condition is excellent with all marcasites present and flawless.

This is a finely crafted ring with a strong Art Deco Bauhaus influenced design, and is so collectable.
