Maria Longworth Nichols Signed Rookwood Pocket Vase

From the founder of Rookwood Pottery herself, this charming footed vase is hand decorated and signed by Maria Longworth Nichols. An early piece, dated 1882, incised "MLN" and stamped "ROOKWOOD" on underside. A finely painted spray of lily of the valley adorns this charming disk-shaped vase with wide opening on four dainty feet. 4" tall, 4" wide, 2" deep. From the estate of a second generation glass and pottery collector in Eastern Oregon.

Condition: Very good. Mild crazing throughout. Professional repair to feet. This is undetectable (even from close inspection) as the vase sits. The only telling sign of the repair is from the underside of the feet, as there is no crazing. An extremely well executed repair. Don't miss this scarce piece for your Rookwood collection.
