French Victorian Cut-Steel Micro Bead Shoe Buckles/Clips (pair)

EXQUISITE MID-VICTORIAN CUT STEEL MICRO-BEAD SHOE BUCKLES/CLIPS - Intricately beaded with rows of bright faceted beads imitating the sparkle of diamonds with lighter silver colored beads creating a classic intricate design. Buckles are backed with ecru silk satin steel beads. Clips are domed with an adjustable sliding bar on back with holes for sewing. Clips measure 2" x 2-3/4" each. Bars are marked, "Made in France".

Cut Steel Micro-Bead Shoe Buckles & Jewelry were quite popular during the Mid-Victorian Era of 1850 - 1880. These items were some of the most intricate items made. Clips were made from faceted steel micro-beads created to imitate the sparkle of diamond. The majority of these elegant antique cut pieces were made in France and later towards the end of the Victorian era were manufactured in England.
